We created the menu boards for the New Holland Coffee Co., and I thought I'd give a few more details about them. I had a really hard time deciding what kind of menu boards to create for the space, because I wanted them to be unique but something that would also fit with the rest of the decor.
We decided we wanted the frame to be metal, so we went searching for old pieces of metal that would work. We found old galvanized steel sliding barn door railing that we cut into sections and pieced together to create a frame. It is perfectly rusty and worn and looks great in the shop!
The chalkboard part of the menu board is just plywood that we painted with chalkboard paint, then cured by rubbing the sides of chalk on it.
The menu board in the main part of the shop measures 3' x 8'.
We made a similar menu board in the special events room that measures 3' x 6'. It was made pretty much exactly like the other board - it's just a little bit smaller.
