I had the incredible opportunity to design a new coffee shop space for my friends who own the New Holland Coffee Co., which is a local coffee shop previously owned by my sister. My friends decided to move their shop to a much larger location, and we created a new space out of what used to be a video rental store. The interior was completely gutted, so we started from scratch.
It was a big project and intimidating for me, but the entire process went very smoothly and was a complete joy for me. I've never worked on a project this large, and I learned so much! And here is the finished space.
We created all of the signs, menu boards, and open shelving in the space. They have a "featured artist" space, and we have our signs there for sale for the next two months.
I created this fun installation with over 100 hanging coffee mugs. It was a challenge to create it, but I love how it turned out!
They have a "Special Event" space that can be closed off with these large barn doors. The space is available to be rented, and you can see more info here.
Here is the "Special Event" room space...
I painted their logo onto the brick wall. I haven't painted onto brick before, so it was a challenge because of the heavy brick texture.
I love this cool green couch that I found on Wayfair. The lights on the side tables can be found here.
I painted the coffee sketch painting hung on the fireplace stone. The black leather chairs can be found here from Wayfair.
The black gooseneck wall lights are from here, and the round glass pendants can be found here.
We wanted to honor the previous owners of the shop and display old photos, so I created this timeline wall. I painted the wording right onto the wall, then hung the framed photos using these frames.
Here is our artwork that I put in one of the bathrooms...
Overall, I am so pleased with how this coffee shop space turned out! I'll be sharing more details of specific areas in the shop in the next few weeks, so stay tuned.
