It’s been a while since I’ve painted furniture, and I have MISSED IT. There is just nothing like seeing the potential in an old/junky/dirty piece of furniture and finding out what an amazing difference that paint can make.
My birthday was a couple of weeks ago and my husband, who knows me so well, brought home this wonderful metal cabinet that he bought from a barn sale. Some girls want jewelry or clothes or vacations for their birthdays. Me? I ask for old junk. It’s just how I’m wired.
Here’s the before…missing a drawer but I really don’t care…
This project was not an easy task. I took all the drawers out and scrubbed them.
Then I covered all the label holders with Frog Tape, which took fooorever. The label holders were attached to the cabinet, and I wasn’t able to just remove them, so I decided the best thing to do would be to cover them with tape.Then the labels holders kept their original silver metal look. Even though it took a long time, it was worth it.
Then I spray painted everything with primer, then two coats of paint. This is my favorite brand of spray paint.

The lamp, books, and globe were thrifted, and I taped book pages to the wall to get a wallpaper look. Nothing fancy or expensive but I happen to love it.
