French Butter Dish

This classic French butter bell is crafted from white porcelain and labeled with "butter" on one side and "beurre" on the other. 

Designed to keep butter soft and spreadable without refrigeration, this two-piece butter dish uses a simple water-seal method. Pack softened butter firmly into the lid. Pour a small amount of cool water into the base. Invert the butter-filled lid into the base so the butter is sealed by the water. The result is perfectly spreadable butter.
