I think one of the benefits of getting older is that I want my space at home to be more functional and more efficient than ever. I don’t want to waste time and space on things that I don’t love or need.
I’ve talked about it before, but I really don’t enjoy baking. Don’t get me wrong, I love to EAT. Especially chocolate cake. Triple, fudgy chocolate cake is even better.
BUT, I don’t enjoy actually making it.
Anyway. I had most of my baking things on my countertops and in a couple of cabinet drawers. One day I had a thought. If I don’t use my baking things very often, why do I have them taking up valuable countertop/cabinet space?
So I decided to move most of the baking things onto this vintage kitchen cart that I picked up at Goodwill a few years ago. If I have to bake, I can just pull the cart up to my counter top and go to work.

I use canisters from Goodwill to hold my baking utensils and glass canisters from Ikea hold flour, sugar, etc.

So I would encourage you to think outside the box when it comes to storage solutions. This particular solution has worked great for me and has opened up countertop space for my painting supplies, which I use every day.
Have a warm, cozy weekend lovelies!
