My roses are insanely busy doing their THING right now, so I thought it’d be a good time to show you a before/after makeover of my small side porch. It is OLD. It is outdated. The floor is shabby and uneven. Everything is thrifted. But it is just right for me.
Here’s a horrible little “before” picture that I took a couple of weeks ago.

And here’s what it looks like today.

I painted the floor in two shades of gray stripes and spruced up the space a bit. I painted the name sign and hung it by the door, gave the table and chair set a coat of spray paint, and added some flowers.

I stacked two crates that I found at a barn sale and painted, and it now holds some old flower pots.

I can’t take any credit whatsoever for how pretty the roses look. I don’t even remember what kind they are. I planted them maybe 5 years ago and they must love the soil and amount of sunshine they get, because I’ve never fed them or really done anything beside prune them. The one on the railings is a climbing rose and the other one is a regular rose bush.
Most afternoons you’ll find me taking a little break on the porch and soaking in the sunshine. It’s my favorite little relaxation spot.
Happy summer-time! Bring it on!
