My artwork business has been growing and evolving over the past few years. What started out as a hobby and little side business for me has evolved into much more than I ever imagined. It has been a way for me to be creative and have fun with my art while staying home with our three littles, which is hugely important to me.

Five months ago husband and I made a decision that was very hard, but also incredibly exciting! He decided to quit his job and join me full-time in helping me with my business. EEEK!!! The decision was hard because he loved his previous job and it held a lot of security for us. But it was time. We both felt it and were completely on the same page. It needed to happen.

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”           –Anais Nin

He has been working with me since I started my hobby/business, working in the evenings and weekends. He finds all the old wood for me, does the woodworking, cutting, and finishing. And also packages the signs for shipping. And he was getting burned out. With his full-time job and helping me in his spare time, we had almost no time for working on house projects (and there are many that still need to get done) and just having more free time to relax and do fun things together as a family.

So, three months ago he officially became part of the Aimee Weaver Designs team and we said “goodbye” to our normal life. And it’s been pretty incredible. People ask all the time how we do it – being together all day long. There are moments when, honestly, it’s not easy. It has forced us to work together as a team like we’ve never had to before. If we have a conflict, we HAVE to work it out. I’m an introvert and crave alone-time, and now that time is seriously limited. So at times I get burned out and need to make sure I schedule time for myself. That is probably my biggest challenge right now.

But, overall, we are both very, very happy with the choice we made. Hubs LOVES his role in the business, and I love mine just as much. It’s been so much fun. We are so grateful for this GIFT that we’ve been given – working side-by-side, doing everyday life together, as a team.

So, THANK YOU to all of our friends and family who have been so supportive, readers who take time to encourage me every day, and customers who purchase my artwork. I am so humbled and thankful.
