One of the fun things I had a chance to do for my sister’s recent wedding was to design the invitations and thank-you cards. I’ve never created wedding invitations before, but I love a creative challenge and had such a good time coming up with the design. I would describe my sister’s style as simple, organic, classic and a good mix of old-fashioned and modern.invite5

I painted their names in watercolor, then scanned it into the computer and added the rest of the wording. I then printed the invitations on heavy watercolor paper. We bought the kraft envelopes from NerdyBirdyPaper on Etsyinvite4invite6invite3 I also created these “thank you” cards that were put at each place setting at the reception. The wording is based off this card that we found on Pinterest. I painted the “Thank you” with watercolor, then added the rest of the wording using Microsoft Publisher and printed them on watercolor paper like I did with the invitations.invite2Even after the wedding is over, I’m still looking at the pictures and remembering what a special day it was!
