Last Saturday morning I was in the mood for a really quick project, so I decided to create a hanging shelf in front of the large window in the studio for some of my plants.

The window doesn’t have any curtains right now, and it looked kinda lonely. It needed some life, and plants were just the thing.

I used only what I had on hand. Here’s what you’ll need:

-A flat piece of wood

-String or rope

-4 small eye-screws

-2 hooks

Fasten the small eye-screws into the boards at the corners, then attach the string to them.

Fasten the hooks into the ceiling and hang the string from the hooks.

I had the fern and succulent, but I picked up the other two plants at Lowes this week. I don’t have a green thumb when it comes to indoor plants, so I’m crossing my fingers that they will survive longer than a few weeks.

Wish me luck! How to create a hanging shelfHow to create a hanging shelf
